Other People's LiteSTICKs
RogalloStick

Ok, I take the blame for this one. I'd hinted to a few people that a Rogallo would be a neat variation (especially since you'd be able to switch back and forth between the Rogallo wing and the regular wing). Sooo... I'd almost given up on it and was about to build one myself when, out of the blue, Ed Couch sends in this one. He writes that:

Just finished this little bird, I think it was your suggestion, good or bad, I'll blame it on ya. (:-) It took about four hours to work up as I already had the Parasail made from another project.

Just come in from first test flight. What can I say but its still in the same number of pieces I started with. Three clicks of right rudder and a couple of down was all it needed. Made four touch and goes with no trouble and it looks great in air. Takeoff runs of about five feet. Increase power it goes up, decrease power comes down. Normal control is through rudder and elevator (nice response there).

Wing is fixed by cabon rods in three spots with string to tail holding alignment. All pure guess work but it works. Pure genius at work or just plain lucky? Now what else can we do with a stick? How about an ornithopter stik with wings flapping about 125 beats per minute? Can you dig it?     Ed

This last picture has nothing to do with the RogStick. However, it shows some what's going on in the CSW (Couch Skunk Works). So if you've been wondering how come he happened to just conveniently have an already-made wing sitting around, you can now see that he pretty much at least one of pretty much everything sitting around in his shop (:-)
