(This is a picture of the stock LiteSTICK - not Ron's)
The nylon wheels on the LiteSTICK are very sturdy for their weight, but if damaged they don't readily glue back together. Here is the a method that works well:Ron writes:
If you break a wheel and want to weld it back together this way you may want to get a few inches of weed trimmer line which is also made from white nylon. You can use to practice joining ends together with the soldering iron, and you can aslo use it to add extra material to the broken wheel to reinforce the repaired joint.Flew again outdoors - at our 'rocky' site. I had broken a spoke before, repaired it with PFM. Well, it broke in the same place from a crosswind landing. Tried another repair method (thanks to Brian Chan), cleaned the spoke area (where the spoke joins wheel), took small, clean soldering iron and melted it back together. There is enough of a lump at the joint to pull material across the joint. Seems strong - will let you know how this works (yes, I know wheels cost $2.60/pair, but I don't want to wait and I hate to pay $3.00 shipping for a $2.60 wheel!)
