(This is a picture of the stock LiteSTICK - not David's)David writes:
On 6x110mAh NiCd cells and a flying weight of 7.0 oz (200g) it was anemic with the standard 10x4.7 slo-fly prop.NOTE: David's method worked well for him, but it's possible to mess up the propeller if you heat it too much. A weak, unbalanced or warped propeller will not fly well and may be dangerous.So... I got out the handy-dandy heat gun and upped the pitch to about 8 inches. WOW!
It's a NEW Airplane! Very fun! :)
BTW, APC sells a 10x7 slo-fly prop which might be perfect.
So, here's the details:
- Prop: up-pitched GWS 10x4.7 (now about 10x8)
- Battery: 6x 110mAh NiCd
- Servos: 2x CS10
- Rx: Hitec 555 w/o case
- ESC: WattAge IC-55
- RTF weight: 200g / 7.0 oz
- Flight time: 3 minutes
If you're just starting out adding a 7th cell is probably a better idea than heating the prop, especially if you don't have a local source for spare props for "just-in-case".
