Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About LiteSTICKs
(and more)

I ordered one of these as soon as I saw the ad in a magazine. It was very easy to build and except for a couple of minor changes (explained below) if flies great.

While there are other kits that top it in one or more different categories, as an all-around starter kit (especially for the price) it's well designed, simple to build, easy to fly, quiet and easy to fix if something goes wrong.

The LiteStick isn't really a trainer, and other planes such as a FireBird XL or a Teddy will work better. However, enough folks seen attracted by the low price and are determined to learn to fly with the LS that some hints seem to be in order.

Hint #1 - FIND HELP !!! If you're learning how to fly, find a flier in your area who can help you learn. If you don't have any luck, you can also locate a local electric flier by joining EFLT (an electric flight e-mail discussion/help list).

SFRC is another list worth subscribing to. It has fewer members than EFLT but it's more closely focused on slow-flyers and you may find more specific help for any questions.

Hint #2 - If you there's nobody in your area who can help MOVE someplace else (:-) or else see more flight training hints.

The only significant change that the LiteStick REQUIRES is to add a string across the the two wings to help hold them at the proper angle (this is called DIHEDRAL). The wings should look roughly like the illustration at the top of the page, but on their own they will sag to roughly level, which makes the plane tough to turn.

How to do this (and other changes / improvements)

Yeah, well ... flying and photographing don't mix (:-) (If you have any better pics please send them along.)

Equipment that works well on the Stick (radios, batts, charger, ESC, servos, etc)
