How to Make a Receiver by Soldering Atoms Together

Mario DiDiego likes to keep busy. He "souped-up" this Z-tron InfraRed receiver. He managed to get the weight down to 1/2 gram from the original "heavy" full gram version.

The original 1 gram receiver is on the left. The new and improved Half Gram version is on the right. The dime is there for comparison. Rumors that Mario is working on making a radio-controlled dime are not true (probably).

You can see what he did: he took all the components apart and then he soldered them back to each other leaving the circuit board off. There are not very many connections so this part is not too impossible, but the miniature size of all the components makes the re-assembly a fantastically delicate job.

I have no real idea how he did it, and I don't really recommend that you try it.
