My finished Nova. As you might have read elsewhere on this site,
except for their large size, I really like Sermos / APP
connectors and I use them wherever possible. However, for
temporary hook-ups where Sermoses may not be yet installed, I
find that banana jacks and plugs come in pretty handy so I
decided to add them here.
The picture above showed the finished product, and yes, it is
possible to do this. However, as you can see, there is very
little room inside the Nova and all sorts of things like
the cooling fan, the pushbuttons and others must be kept clear.
Since these wires might end up carrying rather high currents thick
wire must be used and I found that keeping everything safe
is a huge, huge pain. Basically, if I had
to do it over again ... I WOULDN'T !!
If you intend to do a similar thing I strongly
suggest that you go have a cool lemonade and lie down until the
urge goes away (:-)
Pictures of the sides of the unit. Lots of wires, very little
space = lots of aggravation. The high currents and heat also
make it very feasible that something may go wrong and you'll
fry the charger and / or set your house on fire -- definitely
not a worthwhile project to waste your time on :-(
